Tripware, although it appears as a plug-in to Outlook® (OutBook) or as a Window's application (Travel Center), is actually an application residing on multiple, servers on the network. Some are created by Remotian and others are licensed by Remotian to supply features and functionallity. All communications between the client application and server that relate to travel (airline ticketing, hotel reservations, auto rentals) are via a secure protocol that encrypts all data communications.

One of the servers, portfolio.tripware.com, is the server you use to connect with and set travel preferences. All communications with portfolio.tripware.com are via a secure encrypted protocol.
Another server, the engine manager, is the interface between the client application and the airlines, hotels and auto rentals. This server queries for flights, hotels, and auto information and it is the server that creates reservations on behalf of the client. All reservations are maintained in a SQL server and anytime a reservation is created, altered or deleted, a history of all transactions is updated in the SQL server.
Another server is a secure PBX. This server sends all voice communications to users about gates, departure times, etc. This server provides a TTS (Text-To-Speech) application and text messages are translated from text to voice and sent to the user.
Yet another server is used to send SMS (Short Message Service) as text messages to your cell phone.
Another server monitors all airline flights for your travel and notifies you with flight status.
Tripware consists of multiple servers, databases and clients to service all your travel needs!
